How to Customize Your Leash
Step 1: Pick Your Hardware

Step 2: Pick Your Size
Width:

Small (3/8") – Best for dogs under 30 lbs

Medium (1/2") – Best for dogs 30-60 lbs

Large (3/4") – Best for dogs over 60 lbs
Note: These are comfort guidelines, NOT safety ratings. BioThane® is incredibly strong and an undamaged line will not break even with the most determined pulling. Longer lines naturally become heavier. For better handling and ease of use, choose a thinner width as length increases.

Long lines have been such a game changer for our walks. We have two leashes from HTH - 8' large width for neighborhood walks and a 10' mid width for our occasional hikes and beach adventures. The extra length gives Cannoli more freedom to sniff, roam, and move away from stressors, and gives me the opportunity to learn her behaviors/cues and respectfully react to them.
Definitely appreciate getting to choose how far up the traffic loop is as well; our store bought leashes would always have the loop at the very end of the leash which made it very hard to grab due to our pup's long body. We ordered ours to be further up for easier access when we reach crowded or tight areas.

I wanted a leash that I could use both for scent work for my 45 pound herding dog, and for my high energy 65 pound bully breed who has a really high prey drive. I was torn on getting the large or medium thickeners, and I think this was perfect for what I wanted it for. Given that my bully mix can pull very hard, the thicker leash is easier on my hands. My only regret was not adding another handle part way up my 10’ leash! Will buy again!
