BioThane Collars

Collar sizing is not universal. Different collars we offer have different size range options due to the built in hardware. It is ESSENTIAL that you measure your dog for a collar before placing your order, and read the size chart carefully.

To size your dog for a collar, use a string or a soft tape measure around your dog’s neck where the collar will sit. Add two fingers of breathing room. Choose the size where your dog’s measurement is close to the middle of the size range.

All of our collars are made from Genuine BioThane® - a waterproof, odor proof, and ultra strong coated webbing made in the US. We pair this with solid brass or Duraflex® plastic buckle hardware.

For safety, we don’t recommend leaving any collar on an unsupervised dog.

BioThane® is hypoallergenic and does not absorb dirt or odor, making it a great choice for dogs with sensitive skin. However, every dog and coat type is unique. In some cases, any collar material can contribute to irritation or matting, especially if it’s worn too tightly, left on when wet, or not checked regularly. We recommend inspecting your dog’s neck frequently and ensuring their collar fits comfortably (snug but not tight, with room for two fingers between collar and neck).

Solid brass will not rust, but may develop a natural patina over time. Black‑coated hardware may show cosmetic wear or rust over time, but strength isn’t compromised. To keep your collar looking new for as long as possible, clean frequently (always after a beach trip), and store your collar dry.

Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of receipt for a refund (minus applicable restocking fees) or a store credit. Items must be in new, resalable condition to be eligible for return. 

Personalized items (ID Tags and ID Tag Collars), treats, snuffle mats, sale, and pre made items are final sale and are not eligible for return. International orders are final sale and are not eligible for return.

Unfortunately, certain chemicals (such as skunk spray or DEET) can penetrate BioThane and damage the material or leave a smell that cannot be removed. If this happens, please contact us. We may be able to offer a discounted replacement.

We offer a Brass Small Dog Collar in a narrower width (⅝”).

Absolutely. For our custom collars you can choose your hardware, width, color (including a Two Tone option, depending on the collar style). Choose our ID Tag Collar to add an integrated custom ID tag to your collar.

We offer two styles of Fi Series 3/3+ Compatible Collars; an Integrated and a Layered design. The Fi tracking unit is not included and must be purchased separately from Fi.

The Fi unit can be taken on and off by opening the magnetic tab at the back of the Fi end link and sliding the unit off or on the metal track.

The Integrated Design is more lightweight and low profile, while the Layered Design may be preferred if you would not like the metal Fi Unit to be in contact with your dog’s neck. The Integrated Design is easier to charge while remaining on the collar, and may provide a slightly better GPS signal due to its direct contact with your dog.
