High Tail Hikes is looking for a new team member at our production facility in Oakland, California!
Title: High Tail Hikes Production and Fulfillment Specialist
Hours: 10-20 hours/week at our warehouse in west Oakland. Candidate must be local.
Pay and Benefits:
$22-$24/hr to start with regular opportunities for bonuses and pay raises based on performance.

Work Schedule/Hours: Flexible; preferred between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm; Monday through Friday. Position is at-will but we strongly prefer a minimum 1 year commitment. Candidate must be available during our busy holiday season in November/December 2024 (outside of paid holidays).
Job Duties
Light Manufacturing: Production of BioThane leashes, collars, and other dog walking accessories using a variety of tools; training will be provided.
Order Fulfillment: Checking and packaging orders for shipment, dropping off orders at USPS and UPS.
Miscellaneous: Other duties may include unboxing shipments, organizing and prepping hardware, managing inventory, assembling packaging materials, processing returns and exchanges, customer service tasks, cleaning and organizing the work area, and other duties based on our needs and your interests.
Physical requirements: Position will involve being on your feet and standing and moving around a lot. Position will involve repetitive movements and physical labor (lifting, stooping, bending, carrying boxes up to 30 pounds, loading and unloading materials), as well as detailed work that requires good fine motor skills.
Work environment: We work on the upper level of a large, uninsulated warehouse that we share with approximately 30 other makers, fabricators, freelancers, and small business owners. The environment can be loud, dusty, and hot and/or cold (depending on the season). We are not ADA accessible, unfortunately.

They will be able to take direction and ask appropriate questions, but also work independently with efficiency, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. Can I bring my dog to work? Sorry - your dog will not be able to join us at our facility for safety reasons. We offer a lot of scheduling flexibility so that you can meet your dog’s needs outside of work!
