High Tail Hikes started as a dog walking and pet sitting business in 2015. After a few years of using fabric leashes that got disgusting, we discovered biothane, and immediately loved how durable, lightweight, soft, and easy to clean it is. In 2017, we started making biothane leashes and long lines for our own use, and then for other local dog walkers. In the summer of 2020, when our business was shut down due to Covid, we took the leap to offer our products to the general public. We proudly make all to our products by hand out of our studio in west Oakland, California, using only the highest quality hardware. We continue to offer daily off-leash group hikes, as well as private dog walks and pet visits. We are committed to using only positive reinforcement management methods on the dogs in our care.
