About Us

High Tail Hikes

High Tail Hikes started as a dog walking and pet sitting business in Oakland in 2015. We discovered biothane leashes around 2017, and loved how durable, lightweight, easy to handle, and easy to clean they are. Liz's husband, Gregg, is a professional fabricator, and in 2018 he started making leashes for Liz's pack and for other dog walkers. In 2020, we scaled up our leash business and began offering our high quality biothane products to the general public. We proudly make our leashes by hand out of our studio in west Oakland CA, using only the highest quality hardware and craftsmanship. We are honored to work with dozens of dog walking business, professional dog trainers, dog day care centers, and discerning dog owners across the U.S.
