I needed something well made and this collar is definitely it! My husky Bruno can be a handful and his collar not only fits him perfectly but also is as strong as he is in times Bruno sees a bunny on a walk and gets crazy.

This is our first Bio Thane and boy do we like it!!! Took our very speedy and "hi energy" Pointer for a sniffarie and he had so much fun with his 30' long line. And, our wrists and hands came back without one friction burn!!! Love the colors!! Easy to roll up and carry, especially with the extra strap for the leash to be packed up - great idea!! So glad we jumped into the water to try Bio Thane. You MAY have a convert from the great old-fashioned horse leather!!!

we have two custom leashes - one at 10 feet, which is our everyday walking leash and one at 6 feet, which is our “mission” length (when we’re on a mission and need to stay close) and we love both! our cairn terrier loves to roll around in grass, dirt, all the things, so having a leash that is sturdy and easy to clean is definitely a life improvement.

I absolutely adore this leash. It has incredible functionality and is so much easier to adjust than other waist clip biothane I've tried. The waist belt adjustability is particularly useful when hiking and taking layers on and off. But the cross body function is great, and the regular loop is good too! I often run with both my dogs, and use the 3/8” for my 45 pound girl and the 1/2” for my 55 pound boy. Strength is great and my 45 pound girl can be a heck of a puller.

I quit Amazon shopping a few months ago and have been having such a good time finding small, local businesses instead. I was so excited to find High Tail Hikes! Small business, woman owned, AND a proponent of R+ training? Winning all around. I have since bought a 6 ft leash, a 30 ft long line, a couple of leash extenders, and a long line keeper. Oh, and a gift for a friend which was the "Live, Laugh, Leash Your Fucking Dog" tote. She loved it! The quality of everything I've purchased is superb, the colors are joyful, and the freedom that the long line gives my adolescent boy (and my girl when needed) is priceless. Look at his joy. :)

Recently adopted my sweet girl who was trained on a retractable and she's adjusted beautifully to the new leash! It's better for me too as I have more control and she keeps her sniffing freedom! I also ordered it in green apple as the primary color and it's easy for both of us to see, even at night! It's easy to clean and soft on my hands. The clip is just the right size for my little pup (only 8lbs!) and the 2ft traffic handle is always within easy reach ♥️

I ordered the 36 inch extender to take along on walks when I don’t want to carry my entire long leash. This thing is AWESOME! It’s smaller and lighter than I expected (can fit in your pocket), but it’s also strong enough to hold up to my puppy’s antics. It gives us an extra few feet to work with if I decide I want to let her go for a swim or explore a bit further away from me. The sport clasp is fantastic too- I’ve had other clasps fail on me, but I feel my dog is very secure on this. I can’t recommend it enough!

I needed a long line without a handle and this is a great leash. The biothane material meant cleaning it was a breeze, even though it was dragged through a creek.

I’ve always used leather leads for our dogs, but tan as for a customizable bio thane product caught my attention. The lead is soft to hold (I have the widest width even though our dog is under 30 pounds), the brass snaps and D rings are great and it looks amazing. It’s easy to hold in the rain and the quality is top notch. Definitely need more of these at our house.

These are the only leashes I use to walk my dog. I have 3 or 4 of the 1/2inch hand free convertible leashes with several different lengths. I prefer using the 6’ for everyday walks. Such high quality and so easily to clean! Will absolutely be purchasing more

This was an upgrade for me from a store-bought crossbody leash that was a little too short for my sheltie/iggy mix to avoid being underfoot all the time, and I'm so happy I did. This hands-free leash is hands-down my favorite of the items I ordered. I chose the 1/2" width even though my dog is only 16-17lbs - the skinnier version just looked TOO skinny for the length I wanted, especially since I got her the 1" collar.

I'm not sure why there are those coating "ripples" on the wide part of the lead, but they don't impact function and don't bother me. I did not see the same texture on the ID collar I also got.

I will be picking up an even longer convertible leash for training, and probably a 4ft lead as well (6ft is a little too long for us on potty breaks or vet visits, but I didn't realize you could custom order a shorter one!)

This is my second purchase after buying a custom leash for my Service Dog. As a handler these leashes are amazing being able to design a leash specifically tailored to my needs was key! It makes the safety of my dog and myself easy. The leashes are easy to clean and care for and are rugged and strong! I bought the second two as his down time leashes for his fun walks, when he’s out of harness. They were part of the sale promotion. So we’re made for someone else but never used or picked up. Just at a discount which was great !!!! One is a 15ft lead the other is a 6ft. Both are again made with the same quality materials and I use when he is on breaks. I love the quality of all their products and quite frankly won’t use anything else!

Mom says this is the best leash ever! She wraps it around her waist and off we go. She said I don’t drag her around near as bad as I use to.

So Mom said we needed a new collar with the name tag attached because my old name tag hung off my collar and might get caught on something. She put her number & CALL MY MOM on the tag because she would totally freak if I got lost! She picked these colors because she said they were fun and complemented my color, or something like that.

I love this leash so much! I got the seafoam + lavender and the combo looks great. Helps on walks when I have to hold my dog's poop bag and other things.

I purchased two 10 ft leads for our neighborhood walks. The leashes are very well made and we found the transition from traditional leashes to long lines fairly seamless. The videos helped!

I love the versatility of being able to easily give my pups more freedom! They can now explore and even get some zoomies on walks! I’ve even noticed decreased reactivity! Yay for sniffing!

I recently upgraded my leash and added a safety strap to my order. My girl, Mandy wears a harness but she is still learning not to pull so much. She is making progress but if she sees something of great interest (squirrel etc), she will jerk the leash very hard. I have always been concerned that if she doesn't rip my shoulder out of socket she might break the harness and be free to chase her furry friend. When I saw this safety strap I was so excited to add this to our tool box. Now I know she will be safely attached to her collar if the harness were to fail. This is a great addition to our Biothane leashes. I was able to get it in matching colors and I love the hardware.

We let the leash drag on hikes or connected on a jog. Never a hitch and easy to clean.

I absolutely loved the customization, ability to easily clean, & FI collar integration, and really had high hopes, but I'm so disappointed. I purchased on 03/17/2025, received my order about 10 days later, so my pup has been using her new collar less than a month and the grommets have already started rusting. We live in Florida, and she has an active beach bum lifestyle, so I went with a bio thane collar, but apparently the salt water was too much for the grommets to handle, which is so frustrating to pay so much money on something we're not going to get much use out of.

I got two collars for two dogs I am close with and have the opportunity to see grow. They both have their liquid fun. The black one loves snow and the yellow loves to dash through water. Both are sweet boys and their birthdays had passed but got them a few days after the yellow ones birthday. I will be ordering one for my girl once the time comes!!!!

My dog Fox is doing nose work classes that require long leashes. The 10’ leash for small dogs is perfect! It doesn’t tangle and slides through my fingers like butter. I can’t wait to try it out on a hike.

This collar is very compatible with FI 3. I needed a special size and the collar fits perfectly. But…I ordered teal and black. I was very disappointed that the “teal” is a weird green, not a blue green which I expected it to be. I can live with it only because my dog is a blue Merle Aussie (real teal would have been perfect!) and his coat covers the collar most of the time.

I have these in both a 4ft and 8ft length. I can them on to my belt or make a handle if needed. The added traffic handle is just a sweet bonus for when we stand at corners and gives me just a bit more control. Love this product. And love the ability to switch between lengths as my needs arise.
