We did four state parks and a city park hours away this weekend and between our HTH sport long line and this safety strap I never once worried about Ollie taking off on me. He's about 30 lbs and we have the 8" strap which fits him perfectly. The extra attachment point between him and the leash just gave me SO much extra piece of mind. (The pup's got 9 teeth, excuse all the tongue!)
The clip broke after less than 4 weeks of use. The clip is stuck closed and is extremely difficult to open. Once we do get it open it doesn't close. This is a major problem if it were to accidentally unclip while our dog is outside because it won't clip back up
I reached out to High Tail Hikes about the safety strap just days before I was set to travel on a big adventure. My amazingly smart pup had figured out how to back out of her harness while tethered to out camping site. While her smarts impress me, her safety was also important. The safety strap helps me ensure that she’ll be safe even if she backs out of her harness while we’re camping on this big trip.
